I'm not an athlete, can sports medicine help me?

Of course! You don't need to be an athlete. Sports medicine helps anyone in pain or movement difficulties, even if your only physical activity is walking to work.

Who is sports medicine for?

For everyone. Whether you're an athlete or not: if you're experiencing pain, discomfort, or want to move better, we can help.

What types of problems does sports medicine help you with?

Normally, people come to us for pain or because something is preventing them from moving wellWe can divide this into two types of situations:

  • Acute injuries: such as sprains or falls.
  • Chronic injuries: due to wear and tear or poor posture, such as persistent pain in the knees or back.

Does that sound familiar to you: “My knee cracks and after five years it starts to hurt.””?

In these cases, we look for the root of the problem, giving you tools to manage pain long-term, preventing the situation from worsening, and thus improving your quality of life.

Will physical therapy or treatments hurt?

It shouldn't hurt. You may experience mild discomfort at first, like muscle soreness. We always adapt the treatment to your tolerance and progress.

At your first appointment, we focus on understanding what's happening to you. We make your detailed medical history (questions about your health, symptoms and lifestyle) and a physical examination to see how you move.

Sometimes, for a more precise diagnosis, we ask imaging studies such as ultrasounds or MRIs. Our goal is for you to understand your condition and know what to expect during your recovery.

How long does a session and the complete treatment last?

Each session lasts 40 to 60 minutes. We generally recommend 2-3 sessions per week, up to 6 in total. Afterward, we reassess.
